Russain Tea Time History

Tea was introduced to Russia in the early seventeenth century by China. From that time until today the tea ceremony has become a cultural tradition for central Russia.

The custom has lead to the design, creation and manufacturing of Russia's beautiful and collectable world famous porcelain.
Collectors all over the world cherish their Russian porcelain treasures and many other unique accessories that go with the tea time tradition.

The "samovar" is the central symbol. It is a combination teapot and brewing device. The special blend of tea is then served in teacups
or "stakan s podstakanniko" (glass with a metal holder).
The Russian tea beverage is usually a rich blend of different teas.

The 3 tier teapot was created for the serving of this special amber liquid. The bottom pot holds the steaming water, the second tier a
robust black tea and the small pot at the top has herbal or mint tea.

The teapots, tea cups, tea sets and accessories are each unique works of art in themselves and are functionally beautiful. Their designs depict Russian culture, its people, animals and folk lore.

Even today in this 21st century we can stop, relax and enjoy a beautifully designed and delicious rich cup of Russian Tea.
